Wednesday, June 7 at 7pm
talk and booksigning

British photographer Ken Grant will be at Micamera in Milan to talk about his work – Grant, who started taking pictures very young, has been photographing the life of his hometown Liverpool for over 20 years.

As his former student Colin Pantall wrote:

(…) Grant absorbed these stories from the adult world and slowly they emerged in a photography that shows how people live, but also how they think and rest and breathe. It’s neither simplistic nor romantic, but is rather a holistic photography, as informed by the bleak short stories of Raymond Carver, Richard Yates and Flannery O’Connor as it is by the Scandinavian black-and-white tradition that so clearly influences it.

We could also mention ‘The Players’ by Mark Steinmetz and its timelessness, or a certain Martin Parr at his best…

Ken Grant will be at the bookshop also to sign the copies of two not-to-be-missed books:
A topical time for these times (RRB Publishing, 2016)
No pain whatsoever (Journal, 2014)

You can book your signed copy sending an email to ordini@micamera.com

This event is also part of the Milano Photo Week program.
