Tell all the Truth
but tell it slant —
(Emily Dickinson)

Should “Truth” be something that is told directly – perhaps it’s better use a turn of phrase, a metaphor…or maybe even an image?

Artist, writer and curator Aaron Schuman will teach The SLANT workshop, a one day intense program at Micamera that will focus on the process behind the making of a photo-related work.  As “Truth” is intrinsically related to the idea of research, experience, communication and knowledge, we will see how these notions can apply to the medium of photography – and the interweaving of image and text in this regard.

The workshop is open to photo-related artists or photographers, curators, writers and whoever is interested in such themes. It will consist of a 2 hour lecture and a Q&A / conversation in the morning and the a participatory activity in the afternoon, concluding with conversations around the results of the activity at the end.
